Steel Wire Armoured Cables commonly known as SWA cables are constructed with a layer of steel wires twisted around an inner sheath or bedding layer. SWA cables are used mainly as power cables and are usually employed in applications where the cable has to be buried underground or within a power network.

SWA cables are not limited to power cables and are often used in other cable types which require additional mechanical protection due to installation location. Examples such as direct burial, outdoors or underground.

The BCC steel wire armoured range is manufactured in accordance with British and International standards and hold BASEC third party certification or BT Openreach approval where necessary.
